10 Things Everybody Hates About Robots That Vacuum And Mop Robots That Vacuum And Mop
Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills, staining) in one go without having to swap out devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads using a dedicated dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual gets you running in no time. It comes with an entire dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You could, for instance ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation technology are excellent too as the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only drawback is that it can hit objects and walls at a high speed, but just a glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed, and which obstacles it's avoided.
The docking station has a handy LCD screen that shows when maintenance is needed like emptying the debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time and the mop is able to operate for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode, and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you see every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop, is the most recent version. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates two cameras that can recognize objects, determining whether they are walls or other surfaces. It is able to change its direction automatically and clean the objects without stumbling.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek, angular style is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin auto-refills.
The only drawback I could find with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if necessary) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these smart features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll need to jump through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its intelligent design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum removes the dry mess, which includes pet hair and dust. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet when in operation, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another notable feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brushes, that allows it to reach hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture such as table and chairs' legs. best budget robot vacuum cleaner is also able to reach under furniture with low profile, making it an excellent choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice touch that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Unlike other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and understand The X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it is finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many features that make it a great option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, cleans mop pads and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also detect if the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive available however, it comes with a lot of extra features that set it apart. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it comes with the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles and pick up spills and dirty spots.

Its mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature as it stops the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.
There's a plethora of options available, including the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a number of different preferences. They can be set through the app or there are buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options to customize the cleaning routine, and there are a lot of functions that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, with a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list, at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and is sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well-designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice feature.
